Bio

I earned my BSc degree in Geology from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and completed my Master of Science and Doctor of Science degrees in Tectonics/Structural Geology and Basin Analysis at the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP), Brazil.​ Over the past 15 years, my career has taken me from oil and gas exploration to the forefront of natural hydrogen, critical minerals, and natural gas consulting and researching. I began as an exploration geologist at Petra Energia S.A., advancing to Deputy Asset Leader and working on basin tectonics, petroleum systems, sequence stratigraphy, and geochemistry.​ I then spent several years as a professor at leading Brazilian universities, teaching Structural Geology, Tectonics, and Field and Petroleum Geology.​ Today, I serve as an Independent Master Consultant at HsR Consulting – Energy and Geosciences, and as a Senior Researcher at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil. My focus spans AI development and its application in hydrocarbon exploration and production, the evolution of sedimentary basins, and the exploration of petroleum, natural hydrogen, and sediment-hosted mineral systems.​ Among my recent achievements, I have been appointed to represent Latin America in the Natural Hydrogen Task Group 49 of the International Energy Agency (IEA/OECD), serve as leader of the H2Wana Geologic Hydrogen Task Group (DDE/IUGS), and sit on the Advisory Board of the Association of Geological Hydrogen (AGH).​
