Bio
Ishan Sharma is a Fellow at Renaissance Philanthropy, where he leads efforts to accelerate the deployment of geologic hydrogen. His work spans designing a national network of demonstration testbeds, advancing builder-friendly policy at state and federal levels, and forging global partnerships. He also plays a central role in Renaissance’s India portfolio, focusing on strengthening the deeptech industrial corridor between India and the United States. Beyond Renaissance, Ishan advises family offices, venture firms, foundations, and nonprofits on AI and energy impact opportunities, with a particular emphasis on next-generation geothermal. Previously, Ishan served as the principal advisor on industrial innovation at the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, where he led a team of 15 world-class scientists to commercialize critical deeptech technologies across semiconductors, biotechnology, and energy. He drove several major Presidential initiatives in AI and clean energy, served as the White House lead for geothermal, and coordinated a $5 billion multi-agency program investing in more than 140 U.S. innovation clusters. His work and keynotes have been featured at the UN COP29 and BBC World Service. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University and is a proud member of the Policy Entrepreneurs Network & the Emergent Ventures community, as well as a U.S.–India Climate Fellow.
