Bio
Pablo Gristo Savornin is the head of Exploration and Production, Energy Transition at ANCAP (national oil Company of Uruguay). For the last 18 years, he worked as a professional, team leader or supervisor in several projects for exploration and production of mineral resources, onshore and offshore Uruguay, Argentina and Venezuela. His experience include 3D marine seismic (40,000 km2), 2D marine and onshore seismic surveys (15,000 km), drilling of exploration wells (5) and corehole wells (15), and the management of strategic information assets for ANCAP. He has also collaborated in the planning and technical supervision of several petroleum contracts (exploration, multicliente and services). Mr. Gristo previous experience includes environmental management and monitoring projects, during 8 years for DINAMA (environmental agency of Uruguay) and international organizations. Pablo’s academic interest include geophysical exploration, risk assessment and HSE management in energy projects, and the design and optimization of production technologies. Currently participating in several projects for energy transition, including offshore wind and hydrogen. He is author or co-author of more than 20 articles presented at local and international conferences, including SPE, EAGE, SEG and AAPG. Pablo is a Chemical Engineer from the School of Engineering at Universidad de la República, Montevideo (2001), post graduated in exploration and production of hydrocarbons training organized by YPF and Petroskills, Buenos Aires (2009), and a Master in Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (2017). He is a member of SPE, EAGE and AIQU.
