- Prof. Alexis Templeton is a geochemist and geomicrobiologist with expertise in subsurface systems undergoing active water/rock interaction. She leads an interdisciplinary research group at the University of Colorado – Boulder that utilizes spectroscopic, mineralogical, geochemical, and microbiological approaches to quantify controls on the production and consumption of energy sources such as hydrogen. She is currently leading the Rock-Hydrogen Project, which is a consortium of academic, industry and philanthropic partners implementing a Pilot project in Oman to assess the technical challenges associated with engineering the production of geological hydrogen as a low-carbon energy source. Prof. Templeton serves as a member of the IEA Hydrogen Task Force 49, and the Chimaera Fund for Geological Hydrogen led by Renaissance Philanthropy. She also functions as a technical Advisor to Geological Hydrogen companies such as VEMA, HyTerra and Eden GeoPower.
