Informations
- Bio
- David Iacopini is a structural geologist by training, professor at the University of Naples Federico II, with more than 20 years of seismic interpretation and subsurface exploration expertise specializing in advanced 2D/3D/4D seismic interpretations, formation evaluation using petrophysics tool and image processing techniques. David Iacopini actively works on subsurface geology and marine geology with a focus on deep water deposits and structures (Brazil, West Africa), seal bypass structure (North sea, Flegrei area, Equatorial margins), rift tectonic (East African rift) and underground Storage (CO2 and hydrogen). He has a long expertise on subsurface reservoir characterization which he transferred to solve subsurface storage problems testing new techniques to image subsurface structures including the uses of particle physics to explore underground cavern. David Iacopini actively coordinates industry and European projects focusing on hydrogen underground storage (UHS) including cavern and porous media.
