- Luis Ángel Valencia Flores (M.Sc.) is a Mexican Geological Engineer and holds a Master of Science in Geology from the Superior School of Engineering and Architecture (ESIA), Ticomán Campus, Earth Sciences, at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Mexico. He has 25 years of experience in the industry. Throughout his career at various companies, he has served as an exploration geologist, field development geologist, petrophysicist, and integrator; additionally, he served as Deputy Director General at the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH). His professional background includes work for the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP), Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Schlumberger, Paradigm Geophysical, Aspect Energy Holdings LLC, and the UNAM Faculty of Engineering. Furthermore, he is editor of the scientific outreach magazine Revista Maya de Geociencias. Currently, he is a professor at the National Polytechnic Institute (at both the graduate and undergraduate levels), where he teaches specialized courses in oil reservoir characterization. He is a member of the research groups focusing on "Petroleum Exploration and Energy Resources" as well as "Natural Hydrogen". Additionally, he is an active member of the Mexican Energy Academy and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Energy at the IPN, specializing in the exploration of natural hydrogen and alternative energy sources.
