Bio

Christophe Real is a geologist specialized in geological mapping, structural geology, fault systems, and petrochronology. He obtained his MSc in Geological Mapping, Petrology and Structural Geology from the University of Rennes 1, France (2015), where he studied subducted terrains, and his PhD in Geology from the University of Torino, Italy (2019), focusing on polymetamorphic overprints in the Alps from rifting to collisional tectonic stages. From 2023 to 2025, he conducted a postdoctoral project at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) in collaboration with CPRM (Geological Survey of Brazil), focused on the development of metallogenetic and exploration models for sedimentary phosphate deposits along the southern portion of the western Brasília Belt. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Center of Applied Geosciences (CGA), Geological Survey of Brazil, where he investigates natural hydrogen systems in southwestern Brazil. His research focuses on regional soil-gas surveys to identify and map areas with potential natural hydrogen occurrences and accumulations.
