- Estelle Petitclerc is a geologist who joined the Geological Survey of Belgium in 2005. Her work focuses on subsurface exploration and characterization for geo-energy applications, with particular expertise in geothermal energy and, more recently, natural hydrogen. She is involved in geothermal resource assessment and mapping, exploration strategies, geo-economic modelling, and the thermal characterization of the Belgian subsurface. She currently coordinates BE.Hydrogen, a national research project dedicated to the scientific exploration and assessment of the natural hydrogen potential of the Belgian subsurface. Her work aims at improving the understanding of subsurface resources and developing integrated geoscientific approaches to support their sustainable exploration and use.
