Bio

Bill Garner is a principal shareholder in the Houston office and co-chair of the Global Energy Practice Group of Greenberg Traurig LLP. Greenberg Traurig is a global law firm with nearly 3,300 lawyers in 51 offices. Historically his career has involved the upstream, midstream and downstream natural gas and gas liquids sectors. Today he primarily focuses on liquified natural gas, renewable natural gas, carbon sequestration (CCS), industrial gases and hydrogen projects. In the hydrogen sector he has negotiated numerous manufactured hydrogen offtake contracts and advises natural hydrogen companies on land matters, corporate structuring and capital raises. He has worked on helium matters virtually his entire career starting as a young lawyer in the famous American helium title cases collectively known as Brown v. Cities Service. Today he works on helium offtake contract and pricing issues. Bill has non-technical and law degrees from American universities and is a former general counsel of two major US public corporations. He also spent almost a decade as an international oil and gas investment banker. He has been recognized as one of the top energy project development and transitional energy lawyers in the US. He frequently speaks on CCS, transitional energy, and hydrogen matters.
